Another edition of our robotics camp is behind us—this time with the exciting and forward-looking theme of Smart City. For the seventh consecutive year, the camp was proudly organized by GRAMOFOND, the GZ’s Foundation, continuing a tradition that has become a cornerstone of our educational outreach. Due to overwhelming interest and demand from kids and parents, we once again ran two full sessions, and both proved to be incredibly rewarding experiences for everyone involved.

Throughout the camp, we introduced children to the fascinating world of robotics, programming, and modern technology. Using a variety of educational kits and tools, participants built simple robotic models, learned the basics of coding, and began to think like engineers and designers. These hands-on activities not only taught them technical skills but also encouraged critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. The children were challenged to imagine how technology could be used to improve urban life—whether through smart transportation systems, automated waste management, or others.

As in previous years, we incorporated micro:bit programming and 3D printing into the curriculum. These two components have become staples of our camp, and this year was no exception. The micro:bit sessions allowed children to create interactive projects, such as temperature sensors and traffic light simulations, while the 3D printing workshops gave them the opportunity to produce physical components for their robotic creations. Both activities were met with great enthusiasm and became integral parts of many of the final projects presented at the end of each session.

From the very beginning, these robotics camps have held a special place in our hearts. They represent more than just a summer activity—they are a way to ignite curiosity and passion for technology in young minds. We believe that technology is not just about numbers, wires, and screens—it’s also about creativity, exploration, and collaboration. Through these camps, we aim to show children that they can be inventors, innovators, and problem-solvers on their own.

This year’s Smart City theme added an extra layer of relevance and inspiration. As cities around the world continue to evolve and embrace digital transformation, it’s more important than ever to prepare the next generation to think critically about how technology can shape the future. By engaging with these concepts early on, children begin to understand the role they can play in building smarter, more sustainable environments.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming all tech enthusiasts again next year—or even sooner at our regular robotics courses, which continue throughout the school year.
